Your text stays on your device

The documents, questions and lists you type or import are processed inside your browser. They are not sent to or stored on our servers.

What is stored in your browser

The site saves a few preferences in your browser's local storage: your theme, whether the tips are hidden, and whether meaning search is turned on. You can clear them by clearing site data in your browser.

Files loaded from other services

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. If you turn on meaning search, the language model and its library are downloaded from jsDelivr and Hugging Face. Those services receive your IP address, as with any download, but not your text or files.

If you load a document from a link, your browser fetches that page directly from its site. If you connect your own model, such as Ollama, Gemini or Claude, your question and the retrieved passages are sent from your browser straight to the address you entered.

Connecting your own model

If you connect your own model, the prompt is sent from your browser directly to the address you enter. If you also name an embedding model, the passages and questions are sent there too. Nothing passes through our servers. The address and model names are saved in your browser; an API key is not saved.
